Placing an Ad
Placing an ad gives you the opportunity to show the world your true colors. By clicking on the "Place an Ad" button, you are brought to the "join" page. At this time it is required that you choose between a paid membership or free trial membership. Once you click on your membership selection, you are taken to the account page where you follow the simple directions and enter your personal information. These questions are all pretty straightforward. It's at the end of the questionnaire in the description and essay portions where you really need to give some thought.
The first section will be used to create the "teaser ad" that you see when you do an initial search. Use words here like tall, toned, blue-eyed, athletic, friendly, etc. Avoid phrases like "the most wonderful charming person you'll ever meet on this planet". After you've finished the description portion, move onto the interests and pet peeves section where you tell everyone what you like to do, your turn-ons/turn-offs, pet peeves, etc.
Now it's time to compose the body of the "main profile section". This section will make up the body of your full profile, so you should give this area some considerable thought. Here you should explain to the world who you really are. What you're really like? What you have to offer the other person? What do you want from another person? What are your hobbies, your hopes, and your dreams, etc?
Remember, your selling yourself !
System Features
Our system is based on a "membership only" basis.
Although it's always free to browse the ads, to respond to an ad or use any of the other system features, a membership is required. If you're here for the first time as a new user of our system, you will have the opportunity to "try before you buy" with a generous amount of on-line time as a free trial member.
Both paid and free trial members have full access to our systems features which include the ability to:
- Search Ads - This feature allows you to do a basic search of your desired selections in any or all of the ads, in the areas you define.
- Advanced Search - This feature will allow you to define your search criteria down to as specific a criteria as eye or hair colours.
- Update Ads - At any time you feel you would like to review and update your own profile, you may do so with the touch of the "update info" button on the left hand side of your screen.
- Online Chat - Here you can meet in real time with other members of the service.
- Match Me - This is where we allow centuries old traditions and the wonders of new technology to determine your perfect match. This is done by using your birthdate and some of the information you supplied in your initial questionnaire.
- Profile Pictures - As a member you get the ability to view all ads with pictures, as well as post your own picture to your profile. Since most ads which contain pictures get responses 4 to 1, this is undoubtedly one of the best ways to fill your mailbox.
- Live Video - Although this technology is still in its infancy, we're working toward having this feature as part of our paid membership. We'll inform our members as soon as it's available.
Online Privacy
Please be assured that your anonymity and privacy are at the top of our list. We pride ourselves in offering you one of the most safe and secure online environments in cyberspace. This is why your email address will never be given out to another member. But, in order to serve you better, we do need to collect personal information from our members. This helps us to plan ahead and anticipate the needs of our members, match you up with fellow members, and also provide you with accurate billing. Rest assured though, none of this personal information will ever leave our organization.
Updating your profile
During the course of your membership (either free trial or paid) you may update your profile at any time by simply hitting the "update profile" button on the left-hand side of the screen. This is basically the same as placing an ad, with the exception being that you simply enter your "user id" and "password" and the system will take you directly to your profile. After that, simply update what you feel needs to be changed.
Password information
All passwords and user id's are chosen by the member and should never be given out to anyone.
Should a member ever forget their password, simply send an email to, webmaster@thepersonalads.com listing your full name, actual email address, user id, and mothers maiden name. Using this information, we will search our database for your password. As this is a manual search, please be patient and allow 24 hours for your password to be sent back to you.
Rules of conduct
It is our hope that your participation in this system is a uniquely enjoyable and fun experience. We believe that personal responsibility is paramount, and that people should treat others as they themselves would like to be treated. Also, please understand that this system is not strictly adult oriented, and we do not offer a "G" rating either. Our service is just that; "a service which allows individuals to interact as they choose". Based on this concept, we feel our involvement should be kept to a minimum, and even though we do our best to "stand back" and let things naturally progress, we must make it clear that there are some things we will not tolerate.
Should we find your profile, emails, or chat sessions contain any of the following, we reserve the right to terminate your account without notice.
- Sexually explicit comments
- Soliciting chain letters and/or mass mailings
- Soliciting illegal activities
- Humiliation of others
- Threats
- General disregard for others feelings
- Email addresses posted to your profile
In addition, if you ever view something on the system that offends you, or someone should send you something that is offensive, or becomes a problem in chat, we would like for you to notify us immediately. Please forward the name on the ad or all correspondence that the offending party has sent you to us immediately, here at webmaster@thepersonalads.com and we will do our best to rectify the situation as soon as possible.
Membership Cost
It's FREE !!!!!!!! We're going to continue to offer you this service completely free for as long as we can afford to do so.
Who's Using our Service
Coming soon, we will be adding a feature that allows you to see what types of people are using our system.
Like, how many users, how many from which country/area, how many are looking for what.. but for now, rest assured, they are coming from all walks of life, looking for many different things. There seems to be no bounds for the reasons people are here, and that suits us fine, as it makes for an interesting gathering place.
Pictures and Photos
Have a scanned photo? Upload it!
Placing a photo on your profile is one of the quickest ways to fill your mailbox with emails. As a member, you have the ability to submit to us a JPEG or GIF file of yourself and we will attach it to your profile. Please only send pictures with a file size less than 150k in size. We also ask that the pictures you send are of yourself and not Pamela Anderson, George Clooney, etc… and that your head is approximately 1-inch in height. Black and White photos are OK, but colour works better.
At this time we are not going to post "racy or nude photos" but are considering this as an extra feature in the future for this system, or possibly for another system presently in the development stage. Should you wish to send these types of photos now, please direct them to us at photos@thepersonalads.com. Regardless of which type of photo you send, please be sure to include your full name, actual email address, and user id in the body of your email, along with the photo.
If you do not have access to a scanner, we can do them for you. Please keep their size between 2" x 3"(wallet size) and 8½" x 11". We would prefer 5 x 7 as these seem to work best. Please forward the photo of your choice with a cheque or money order for $5.00U.S. (to cover processing and return postage) to us at our Contact Page

First of all, thank you for taking the time to see if you can offer your assistance in making this place better! At present, the best way you can help is to tell everyone you come into contact with just how great this place really is. Because the more members we have, the more we'll be able to offer features that could allow for opportunities for finding that special someone.
