We thought you might like a little help in coming up with that perfect ad, so let us offer you these few tips. * Treat people how you would like to be treated......With the truth. First and foremost, be completely honest when describing yourself. Not just your appearance, but who you really are as a person. What true qualities do you have to offer another person? We believe that if you are completely honest from the beginning, you've got a better chance of finding that special person; and probably, with a whole lot less disappointment along the way. * Describe yourself. Try and avoid creating an ad that is simply a long list of characteristics that you seek in someone else, without offering to any information about yourself. It's always a good idea to let the person reading your personal ad decide if they might be a match for you. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't say anything about what your looking for, just don't overdo it. * Show them, don't tell them. As an example, It's much more effective to use humor in your personal ad rather than simply saying, "I have a sense of humor". Show the other person what you are really about by using interesting word choices, a clear ad structure, and most importantly colorful and creative descriptions. * Creativity makes you points. A personal ad can take many forms. It could take the form of a poem, a quote, or even a song. One amazing ad consisted entirely of the titles of popular movies, one right after another, chosen to describe the ad placer. How's that for creative? Here your only limits your imagination! * Details, details, detail. Have you ever read a personal ad that states; "I enjoy movies, music, and going out." This sentence describes millions of people! So instead, name a recent movie you saw and enjoyed. Say that you like Jazz if you do. Talk about your favorite songs or artists. If you enjoy going out to Mexican restaurants, or singing Karaoke on Saturday nights, say so! What you really want to do is create a personal ad that makes you stand out from the rest! * Express to your audience what YOU would want to know about them. Sit down and make a list of the most Important things that you'd like to know about a person before responding to their ad. I'll guarantee you; chances are they'd like to know the same thing about you. If you work, describe your occupation. Have you ever been married before? Do you have children? Are you looking to make some new friends, or do you want find one special person to settle down with for a lifetime? Always remember, common goals are often more important in a relationship than individual interests.
